Moving & Resizing

Move a window

Hold your modifier (⌥ by default) and drag anywhere inside the window with the left mouse button. The click never reaches the app, so you can grab a window by a button, a text field or a web page without triggering anything.

Resize a window

Hold your modifier and drag with the right mouse button. ClickFit picks the corner nearest to where you grabbed and resizes from there, so grab near the edge you want to move.

On a trackpad, a two-finger click counts as a right click.

Snapping

While you move or resize, windows are drawn to useful edges and let go again once you keep dragging past them.

• Snap to Screen Edges — windows align to the edges of the screen.
• Snap to Other Windows — windows align to the edges of nearby windows, so they sit flush without gaps or overlaps.

Turn either one off under Snapping & Tiling in the panel.

Resize Coupling

When two or more windows share an edge, dragging that edge resizes all of them together. The layout you built stays intact — one window grows exactly as much as its neighbour shrinks, and it chains across more than two windows.

• It works with ClickFit’s resize gesture and with the normal macOS window edges and corners, no modifier needed.
• While you drag, the neighbours show a live preview of where they’ll end up. They move when you let go.

Turn it off with Snapping & Tiling → Resize Coupling.

Mouse gesture shortcuts

Three click gestures run a window action on the window under the cursor:

Gesture	Default action
Modifier + double left-click	Center Window
Modifier + double right-click	Maximize / Restore
Modifier + left and right click together	Almost Maximize

Change them under Gestures → Mouse Gestures, or set any of them to None. On the free plan, these gestures can run Center, Maximize / Restore, Almost Maximize and Custom Resize. With Pro, you can bind any window, tiling or display action to them.

Excluding apps

If an app needs your modifier + click for itself, add it under Excluded Apps in the panel. ClickFit won’t move or resize its windows.
