Layouts
Arrange every visible window at once with 23 built-in layouts, or draw your own.
Pro
A layout arranges all visible windows on the current screen in one step — two columns, a 2×2 grid, a wide window with two stacked beside it, and so on. The frontmost window gets the first slot, the next window the second, and so on.
Apply a layout
- From the panel — open Layouts and click one.
- With the Layout Picker — hold ⌃⌥ and right-click, or press ⌃⌥L. See Gestures.
- From the menu bar — right-click the ClickFit icon and choose from Favorites.
- With a shortcut — every layout can have its own shortcut under Window Actions → Layouts.

Auto picks a layout for you based on how many windows are open.
Favorites
Your favorites appear at the top of Layouts, in the Layout Picker and in the menu bar menu. Keep up to nine; Auto is always one of them. Right-click any layout to add it to or remove it from Favorites, and to move it up or down. Custom layouts can also be edited, renamed, duplicated or deleted from the same menu.
Custom Layouts
Draw your own when none of the built-ins fit.
- Open Layouts → Edit Custom Layouts. A full-screen canvas opens.
- Drag on the canvas to draw a slot. Slots snap to each other’s edges and to the screen edges, and can’t overlap.
- Drag a slot to move it, or drag its edges to resize it. Right-click a slot to delete it.
- Name the layout and click Save Layout.
Custom layouts work everywhere built-in ones do: favorites, the Layout Picker, the menu bar and their own shortcuts. Because slots are stored as proportions of the screen, a custom layout fits any display size.
